Footage: The XX's "Basic Space" Live In Brooklyn

[Via Gorilla vs. Bear] Man, how good is this band? We first read about them on Saam Das's blog here, maybe even heard them on his podcast, and the hype continues to build. And this live clip really brings it all home. The drum machine stuff isn't programmed! It's performed live! Love that. And it contrasts so hard with the sedate instrumental work and soul harmonies. Word is The XX will be all over CMJ next week, which is no surprise since they are probably about to explode huge, to the point we'll be sick of them by January. But for now, The XX, we think you are the bee's knees. [EDIT: JaneInMA helpfully points out the London-based foursome will be at Boston's Paradise Rock Club December 4 supporting Friendly Fires. Excellent.].

Didn't These New Puritans and Prinzhorn Dance School do this better and before?
